Mr. Gordon S. Bennett has been Managing Director at ICE since February 2015. Mr. Bennett is responsible for the sales and business development of ICE’s global environmental portfolio, the world’s largest environmental marketplace.

He is a member of the Board of ICE Endex, ICE Futures Abu Dhabi, Spark Commodities and a member of the Strategic Advisory Board of BeZero Carbon. He contributes to a wide range of external environmental and energy market initiatives including a member of the Nature Based Solutions Taskforce of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, the Transition to Net Zero Working Group of the Climate Financial Risk Forum, the City of London VCM Steering Committee, the VCMI Stakeholder Forum, the Advisory Board of the University of Cambridge Energy Policy Research Group and was named Environmental Finance’s sustainable business leader of the year in 2022.

Prior to ICE, Mr. Bennett spent 12 years at the global energy broker, Spectron, joining as Group Financial Controller. During his tenure at Spectron he held several Board roles including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer. After the acquisition of Spectron by Marex he joined the Executive Committee of Marex Spectron in the role of Managing Director and Global Head of Energy.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He served as a Senior Manager in the Energy, Infrastructure and Utilities division of the accounting firm Arthur Andersen.

Mr. Bennett holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (with Honours) in Chemistry from the University of Edinburgh.

Stuart Brocklehurst is Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Business Engagement and Innovation, leading the University’s collaboration with business and our drive to deliver innovation through our research and education. In addition, as Director of Green Futures Solutions he heads the university’s drive to translate our world leading work on climate change into practical impact.

Stuart started his career in banking, holding roles with Barclays in the UK and Africa, then as Senior Vice President for Digital Commerce at Visa International CEMEA leading the adoption of new business models and technologies. Following a period as a Partner at consultancy Carbon, Stuart joined Amadeus in support of its IPO and served as Group Communications Director after the flotation. He went on to run his own business up to its sale to the Troy Group, where he remains a board advisor.

Stuart is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Fellow of the British Computer Society, a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute, a Chartered IT Professional, a Chartered Manager, a Freeman of the City of London, and holds a degree in theology from Oxford.

He has served on numerous company boards, on the synod and Bishop’s Council of the Diocese of Exeter, as a Governor of Petroc College in North Devon and as a Leadership Fellow of Exeter Business School.

He chairs the Exeter Science Centre Advisory Board and serves on the boards of Great South West Pan Regional Partnership; SETsquared; GW4; the Centre for Resilience in the Environment, Water and Waste; the South West Investment Fund’s Strategic Advisory Board; and the Liveable Exeter Place Board. Additionally, he is on the Executive Committee of parliament’s Rural Economy Research Group and the Selection Committee for the Zayed Sustainability Prize.

Kaya Axelsson is a research fellow and head of Policy and Partnerships at Oxford Net Zero, an interdisciplinary climate change mitigation research programme at the University of Oxford. Kaya earned a distinction for her research on politically unlikely renewable energy coalitions. Her current research is on the emerging net zero policy landscape. She has recently served as a strategic advisor to the UN-backed Race to Zero campaign and as a technical author on the International Standard Organization’s new Net Zero Guidelines. With 15 years of experience in social and environmental sustainability, Kaya speaks and consults regularly for organizations and initiatives on their climate strategies.

Nick Osborne leads the carbon trading business for Shell Trading, he has global responsibility for environmental markets in both the compliance and voluntary spaces and runs a geographically diverse team with representation from Sydney to San Diego. He is an energy trading veteran with more than 20 years’ experience across refined products, crude oil, biofuels, freight, carbon and corporate strategy and has lived and worked in the UK, the Netherlands and the USA. He is a passionate supporter of carbon markets and market development having researched futures market opportunities as part of his MBA dissertation and built the bio-ethanol business for Shell during the mid-2000s, and has thus experienced both the euphoria and uncertainty of climate action when it relates to energy.

Ana has over 30 years of experience in financial services and a detailed understanding of the alternative investment space across real assets and hedge funds, honed over fifteen years of leadership at Dexion Capital. She has a track record of building business shaped by the interests of shareholders and investors, with Dexion being recognised as leaders in corporate governance in the London-listed, closed-end company structure for alternative asset classes, raising over $16 billion in funds for 300 buy-side client groups. Ana established partnerships with key clients both in the provision of white label funds and in the creation of specialist, real-asset joint ventures, including US and European agricultural interests, social housing, and renewable energy.

Ana co-founded Respira International in 2019 as an impact-driven carbon finance business. Its high-quality verified emissions reductions allow corporations and financial institutions to mitigate their environmental impact. Respira channels private capital into climate solutions, ensuring long-term relationships with trusted carbon project developers that enable its clients to use predominantly nature-based solutions to build sustainable, climate positive businesses.

Pedro leads EDF’s work to assist the private sector and governments in leveraging carbon markets to addressing the climate challenge and contributing to global efforts to decarbonize toward a net-zero world. He also lead EDF’s initiatives to improve the integrity and functioning of compliance and voluntary carbon markets around the world, including through the Carbon Credit Quality Initiative and the Voluntary Carbon Market Integrity Initiative. He is an international expert with more than 20 years of experience in international climate policy and carbon markets, and currently serving as the co-Chair of the Expert panel for the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (IC-VCM).

Steve Zwick is a former futures trader who pivoted to journalism in the early 1990s, when he also began working pro bono on air quality solutions in his native Chicago. He turned to climate and biodiversity reporting in 2005 after serving as TIME Magazine's lead European business correspondent for seven years. He became Managing Editor of Ecosystem Marketplace in 2009, and in 2016 he launched the Bionic Planet podcast to spread awareness of nature-based climate solutions (NbCS) to a wider audience. Now in its 9th season, the show consistently ranks in the top 20 earth science programs worldwide.

Chris is Vice President of Carbon Finance at Conservation International (CI) leading CI’s carbon project development and implementation. Chris has more than 16 years of private and public-sector experience in carbon markets and climate finance. His career has focused on originating and structuring high-quality carbon market transactions across various project types and geographies. He worked on the carbon desk of Dutch energy trading firm Eneco during the height of the carbon market’s first wave. He then worked for the Swedish Government’s climate program and was the leading board member representing Sweden on multiple World Bank carbon trust funds including the Carbon Partnership Facility, the Transformative Carbon Action Facility, and Carbon Initiative for Development. He initiated some of Sweden’s first Internationally Transferable Mitigation Outcome (ITMO) trades under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement. During this time, Christ was also the Advisor to the Swedish Foreign Ministry for the Green Climate Fund.

Professor Ed Mitchard has spent ~20 years using satellite data to map the changing carbon stocks of the world's forests and peatlands. As a professor at Edinburgh University he published over 100 scientific papers, raised $8 million in research funding, and measured >15,000 trees across 13 countries. He has advised governments on how to monitor their forests, been deeply involved in the evolution of carbon standards, including Verra’s VCS and the Plan Vivo Standard, and supported carbon project developers around the world.

In 2017 he co-founded Space Intelligence with Dr Murray Collins, to bring high accuracy satellite-derived maps to nature-based carbon offset projects. This was urgent because he thought carbon finance was essential to halt forest destruction and start restoration, but the latest methods and best satellite datasets were not being used. Space Intelligence has grown to 50 employees, providing high quality maps to carbon projects around the world.

From working as an engagement manager in wholesale banking in 2006 to his work now, James has seen many changes in the industry and is often consulted to provide an independent challenge on strategic issues.

James studied Economics and Management at Oxford and spent a year in China before joining Oliver Wyman.

Based in London, James is a Partner in Oliver Wyman’s Corporate and Institutional Banking practice and co-head of the Climate and Sustainability platform in Europe, advising wholesale banking clients on issues around their business strategy, capital and liquidity, approach to technology, or how they operate. In addition to this James leads on CIT coverage for a large multinational bank and financial services company as well as being the lead on climate change and sustainable finance in EMEA.

Climate finance is an issue that holds great significance for James both in his capacity as climate change and sustainability lead and on a personal level. He believes financial services firms can play an important positive role in supporting and driving the accelerated transition to a lower carbon economy.

Outside of his work as a partner at Oliver Wyman, James, a father of three, is very committed to family life, balancing work with active involvement in the day-to-day life of his children.

Adrian Siegrist is the Chief Commercial Officer at Climeworks, the global leader in carbon removal, empowering companies to advance their net-zero roadmaps and fight global warming. Climeworks develops, builds and operates direct air capture plants to remove CO2 from the air since 2009, with commercial operations since 2021 - scaling towards gigaton scale in 2050.

Previously Adrian served as Vice President of Climeworks Solutions and Head of Strategy. Before Climeworks, Adrian was with Boston Consulting Group in the US and Europe, advising Fortune 500 companies on energy transition, sustainability and finance topics across various industries.

Brynn is a climate and sustainability professional with over 10 years of experience within the financial services industry. In her role as Head of Carbon Removal Solutions at Climate Vault, she leads the annual RFP program to assess and select new and innovative CDR technologies to receive Climate Vault’s CDR Innovation Award. Prior to joining Climate Vault, Brynn held several roles at asset management firms and consultancies. Her expertise spans environmental markets, product management, investor relations and corporate communications. Brynn holds a Masters in Sustainability Management from Columbia University and a B.A. in Economics and Spanish from Dickinson College.

Anthony (Tony) Cottone is the Vice President of Finance at 1PointFive, an industrial-scale Direct Air Capture company, where he oversees sustainable growth, profitability, and fundraising efforts. Previously, he served as Vice President of Carbon Solutions, leading a team that successfully achieved pre-sales of over 1.2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide removal credits, generating more than $400 million in revenue. Tony was also a founding member of the Oxy Low Carbon Ventures team, where he played a key role in developing and executing the group's strategy. His team focused on identifying business opportunities, managing investments in venture-stage climate companies, and spearheading the financing of Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Sequestration projects.

Harris is Head of Sales at Charm Industrial. Prior to Charm, Harris led Energy Consumers engagement at ClearTrace Technologies, and led the direct sales team at Carbon Lighthouse and helped lead the pivot to a subscription model. Harris also spent time at Bloom Energy, and Pacific Gas and Electric after completing a bachelor's degree at UC Berkeley with a minor in the Energy and Resources Group.

Tom Montag is the founding Chief Executive Officer of Rubicon Carbon. Previously, he was the Chief Operating Officer, President of Global Banking and Markets at Bank of America, and a member of the company’s executive management team, overseeing all businesses serving corporations, institutional investors, and government entities. Montag has over 20 years of experience in financial markets, including key roles at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch. He serves on the boards of NYU Langone Medical Center, Deschutes Land Trust, The Hispanic Federation, and the Japan Society and is a trustee of Northwestern University.

Dr. Jennifer Jenkins is a senior sustainability executive with 25+ years of experience in government, academics, and the private sector. She was a co-recipient of the 2007 Nobel Prize, along with other IPCC scientists, and previously served as the Chief Sustainability Officer at NCX. Prior to that, she served as Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer at Enviva. Dr. Jenkins earned a Ph.D. in ecosystem science and natural resources from the University of New Hampshire.

Sebastien Cross founded BeZero Carbon with Tommy Ricketts in 2020. As Chief Innovation Officer, he focuses on staying ahead of regulatory and market developments, identifying opportunities to enhance BeZero’s analytical and product offering as the carbon markets evolve.

Prior to founding BeZero Carbon, Sebastien worked in research at Bank of America, focusing on fixed income markets. He began his career as an economist at the Bank of England. He has an MSc in Finance & Economics from Warwick Business School and a BA in Economics from the University of Sheffield.
